Poomala Dam is a small irrigation reservoir surrounded by low, wooded hills. The calm water, the walk along the bund and the greenery make it a peaceful half-day outing from Thrissur.
Facilities are simple, which is part of its charm — it never feels as crowded as the bigger dams in the district.
