A Riverside Homestay Night Near Thumboormuzhi
Waking up to the sound of the Chalakudy river at a family-run homestay close to Thumboormuzhi.

Two clean rooms with fans and hot water, a long verandah facing the plantation, and a host family who treated us like relatives. Dinner was home-cooked: rice, sambar, thoran and fish fry.
At six in the morning the river was covered in mist. A short walk brought us to the bank, where we watched kingfishers before the day visitors arrived.
