Kanyakumari
Sunrise At India's Southern Tip
Watching the sun come up over three seas, then taking the ferry to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial.
The southern tip of mainland India, where three seas meet — sunrise, sunset, the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Thiruvalluvar Statue.
Kanyakumari sits where the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean meet. It is one of the few places in India where you can watch the sun rise and set over the sea from the same shore.
Ferries take visitors to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the 133-foot Thiruvalluvar Statue just offshore. The wider district has quiet beaches, churches and the wooden Padmanabhapuram Palace.
